Let me tell you a little about myself

I’m Hayley-Ann, a wedding photographer based in Hampton Roads, VA, who’s absolutely obsessed with intimate weddings and elopements.

I love my pet plants, dancing in the kitchen, personality quizzes, sustainability & traveling the world. I live to explore new places and see as much of the outdoors’ beauty as I can. But to me, photography is more than just the epic landscapes and pretty pictures- although I love those too! Your relationship is one of a kind and I’m here to capture your story in a way that’s completely real and completely you.

I’m here to help craft and capture a wedding experience that’s a meaningful reflection of your relationship – one where every element of your wedding day can be infused with your personality.

You want your wedding photos to be a real representation of what happened throughout the day so that when you look back on them years from now, they take you back to how it felt. From lacing up your hiking boots, to the anticipation of seeing your partner for the first time that day, to champagne pops, and first kisses- There are so many little, priceless moments you’ll cherish. After a while, only photos can help you relive them.

Why would I want full day coverage of my elopement?

YOUR WEDDING DAY ISN’T JUST THE CEREMONY AND SOME PORTRAITS— IT’S THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE.

When you tell your family and friends about how you eloped, the story won’t start and end with the ceremony. You’ll start with how you two woke up in a cozy cabin in the mountains and made breakfast together. Everything from helping each other get into your wedding clothes, writing your vows, journeying to your ceremony spot with bouquet in hand, saying “I Do” (!!!), to sunset picnics and first dances under the stars— you’ll want to hold on to those memories forever.

IT’S ALL PART OF YOUR STORY AND YOU DESERVE TO HAVE IT TOLD!

Full day coverage does not mean a whole day of your typical posed, forced-smiles kind of photo session you may have had in the past. This is different. I’ll be capturing the day as it naturally unfolds. I’m there to document you two having THE BEST day in a way that feels comfortable, organic, and completely true to you.

HOW IT WORKS

01 – Review the packages + add-ons below.

My elopement and small wedding collections are simplified so you can build your own custom package with add-ons to get what you want. Add-ons include things like extra hours, day before coverage and polaroids. Don’t worry about choosing one now, we can talk about which option might be the best for what you’re envisioning when we talk on the phone.

02 – Reply to my email to schedule a call.

Our next step is to schedule a call so I can learn more about you, your relationship and any ideas you already have about your intimate wedding. Once we decide it’ll be a great fit, I’ll send over a contract for you to sign and set up your payment plan. I require a flat $1000 retainer at the time of booking to save your date- then we can get to the good stuff!

03 – We’ll craft your dream wedding together.

I’ll start by sending you two a questionnaire which helps me get to know you and asks what you’re envisioning for your big day. If you don’t want a traditional venue or just aren’t sure yet, then I’ll send some location ideas to help you settle on where to tie the knot. You’ll also get planning assistance including vendor recommendations, activity ideas, info about permit requirements and even a customized day-of timeline that optimizes the best light for your photos and keeps your day focused on your priorities. I’ll be there with you through the whole planning process!

04- MARRY THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE!

The kiss seals the deal but I’ll be there for you two every step of the way. From saying your vows to your first sunset as a married couple and whatever happens in between, I’m here to celebrate and document those moments, big or small.

05- RELIVE THE BEST DAY EVER.

Within the week, you’ll get a handful of sneak peek images so you can quickly share your wedding day with all your family and friends – then, in 8 weeks, you’ll receive your fully edited online gallery where you can download or print your photos to relive those special memories over and over!

Collection 1

ONE FULL DAY AND A HALF (11 HOURS TOTAL) TO DOCUMENT YOUR ENTIRE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURE

I’ll tell the amazing story of your elopement or intimate wedding over the course of one and a half days of exploring as many locations as you want. Or use the 11 hours all in one day for a full sunrise, to sunset, and stargazing experience. This collection is enough time to go on a longer hike where we hike in, camp on site together, then you’ll say your vows at sunrise. Or say “I do” the first day and spend that day celebrating with family. Then use the following half day for an adventure with just your sweetheart where we can capture more amazing portraits or even do an epic trash the dress session.

You’ll receive fully edited, high resolution image files with unlimited downloads and personal printing rights. Within 8 weeks after your elopement, they’ll be delivered in an online gallery that makes sharing with friends and family easy. I’ll help tell the incredible story of your intimate wedding or elopement day adventure. This collection is the perfect amount of time to capture getting ready images, a journey to your ceremony spot, your sweet vow exchange, plus portraits and a celebration to wrap up your day. This package allows for a fun, relaxed experience because there is room in the timeline for spontaneity and being present with your sweetheart to just soak in all the feels. If you like to hike this could be used for a 6-mile round trip hiking elopement— or we can spend the day in a few different locations exploring by car.

If you’re saying your vows within 1.5 hours of Norfolk, VA, I’ve got you covered already. Anything further than that is a travel fee of $50 per hour. Anything over 3 hours away may require overnight accomodations.

Night Before Coverage

2 Hours of coverage the day before your celebration

Whether you’re gathering around a bonfire after dinner, sharing drinks around the table, going on a hike with your dogs, or playing games on the beach- So many wedding memories start the day before. It’s also a perfect chance to meet close family and friends beforehand so they’re more comfortable in front of the camera the next day. Let me know what you have planned for the start of your wedding weekend and I can be there to help document the whole story!

Day After Coverage

2 Hours of coverage the day after you say “I Do”

If you’re having an small wedding and want to savor as much time as you can with the few people you’ve invited to celebrate with you, instead of taking an hour of your wedding day for portraits, we can save that part for a session the following day. I’ll of course still grab a few photos of just the two of you on your wedding day, but this way you get the best of both worlds. You get to soak up all the magic of your wedding day with family and friends and have a stress free shoot for just you two with no time crunch.

This is also a great option if you want to take photos or do an activity in another epic location that would be too far out of the way to include on your wedding day.

Additional Hours

If you need an extra hour added to your coverage, whether it’s during booking, as we craft your timeline and discuss activities, or on the day of – you don’t have to be stressed about running out of time on my behalf. I can be there to capture it all.

Recommended if you’d like to have coverage of a sunrise first look before a ceremony with family in the afternoon, an after party or star photos at night, or extra time for getting ready coverage before your day starts. You won’t have to worry about a tight timeline running behind.

Film

Having a mixture of film and digital is such a fun way to bring a nostalgic, yet timeless twist to your photos. A lot of the time, these end up being my couples’ (and my) favorite images from the day. There’s just something so special about film that is hard to explain – it can really capture how your day feels.

Polaroids

2 packs of polaroids (you can choose between black and white, color, or one pack of each)
6-8 images per pack
Photos are scanned and included in your gallery
Then, I’ll mail the physical polaroids to you so that you can stick them on the fridge, put them in an album, or show them off in a frame

*Please be aware, there is always a small risk with film as you can never know exactly what you’ll get. If film doesn’t turn out, I do not offer refunds as these cost cover the bare minimum of the film cost, development, and scans. Film is fragile and the chemicals can be unpredictable, not only in the vintage cameras themselves but also during the development process. If you have any additional questions about film (including an option for 35mm film), please feel free to ask!

Still Curious about a few things?

Your Questions, Answered

If you couldn’t imagine your wedding day without them, then YES of course! Many of my couples include their family or friends in at least part of their day. Whether they’re there to help you get ready in the morning, to watch you officially tie the knot at your ceremony, to celebrate with you for a dinner in the evening, or for the whole day- it’s completely up to you two. I don’t charge more for an elopement vs. an intimate wedding, so figuring out how you’ll include your guests is something you can decide as we’re going through the planning process.

The amount of guests that push an elopement towards a small/intimate wedding differs from photographer to photographer, but I consider an elopement to be a wedding that has 15 or less participants (including the couple). A micro-wedding or intimate wedding would be any event with less than 40ish guests so long as the day is focused on the couple and planned with intention.

Yes, I’d love to! All types of love are welcome here. And if you don’t like that, I’m not your gal.

Yes, I have liability insurance and coverage for my gear- and that’s info that I’d easily be able to send over to them.

Part of having an elopement in nature is knowing that there are some things we can’t control- like the weather. But thick clouds, a little rain or snow can actually make for stunning images (and a great story).

I’ll still be there for you rain or shine. If inclement weather is in the forecast, we’ll talk about possible backup options based on your priorities (like booking a nice Airbnb to relax and take some cozy photos there). But I also recommend ordering some of those clear bubble umbrellas that make for such cute photos or packing jackets that you are stoked about being photographed in. Some rain or snow is no big deal, but I do take safety seriously. For example, if the plan is to get married on the beach or the top of a mountain but there’s a thunderstorm, we can pivot to a gorgeous wooded area nearby for you to exchange vows. And the good news is, rain usually doesn’t last all day, so if your elopement day is flexible, we can just switch our timeline around so we make the most of the good weather.

Besides color correcting, I retouch impermanent marks like blemishes and bruises. I don’t retouch anything that is part of your body (like curves). If you’re particularly self conscious about something please let me know as I want you to feel 100% comfortable and confident with posing and direction I give you while we shoot.

Nope! Hiking isn’t the only way to have an adventure. Some couple’s idea of an adventure is getting married at the courthouse, exploring downtown and trying a new restaurant. It is completely up to you two! And if you still want an experience out in nature without having to hike, there are tons of stunning, easily accessible locations. I can help you find the one that’s right for you

Once you’ve decided to book with me and signed the contract, paying the $1000 retainer will make us official (both checking and credit card payments are accepted). The rest of the package cost is due one month before your wedding date.

I love giving the best of the best photos so you don’t have to look through tons of duplicates, or photos of yourself blinking but I also don’t set a limit on how many images I deliver. Depending on the activities of your day, the number typically falls around 50-75 images per hour of coverage.

You’ll have your full gallery back within 8 weeks or less!

You’ll receive a private link to your own customized online gallery. You can download all of the photos at no additional cost. You can also send the gallery to friends and family.

I’m based in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and YES! Several of my couples have traveled to Virginia from out of state because it’s one of the most underrated gems. And from beaches to mountains, and waterfalls to open meadows, there’s beauty around every corner.

Absolutely! You won’t have to worry about a thing. The unposed, in-between moments are my favorite, but I’ll also be guiding you through our time together. I’ll direct you to the best place to stand and prompt you in a way that’s comfortable and feels natural to who you are as a couple so you get images that really feel like you.
